The New Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo Collection!
Scroll down for the entire collection!
This weekend was the big debut of Olivia Palermo's capsule collection with Banana Republic! If you've been following me for a while, you'll know that half of my closet comes from Banana Republic. Back in 2009, Banana was my first retail job so I was SO psyched to be invited to the Somerset location's event for the collection's release. I am also a HUGE fan of Olivia Palermo's style. Love how she is always mixing high and low price points along with unexpected prints and patterns. So anything with her name on it, I am all in. I even have a Pinterest board named "Olivia" that houses her outfits. Serious obsession.
While at the store, I put together and tried on some of the new pieces from the new collection as well as others discovered while browsing (See outfit #6). This collection is a perfect mix of military and romance. I love the statement coats! My favorite piece would have to be the pleated dress, as I love anything that makes you look and feel like a Greek goddess. Overall, I kept the pairings pretty simple as I tend to go with pieces that are versatile, timeless, and especially like accessories/shoes that go with everything as you'll see.
Below are some of my try-ons and at the bottom you can shop the entire collection! Next time I do this, I will definitely try to bring someone with me to take the pictures, but thank you to their awesome sales associate, Zech, for helping me and taking some photos. :)
THE PLEATED OFF-THE-SHOULDER MAXI
FAVORITE!! The dress also comes in green. Is so silky smooth, almost felt like those nice silky pajamas (almost). I picked a couple shoe options I would pair this with below too.
THE LONG MILITARY COAT + LACE-UP FLARE PANT
This is the ultimate power coat. I would say to try it on before purchasing if you're on the shorter side, because on me (I'm 5'9" and am wearing an XS) it hit about mid-shin. I put it with the navy lace-up pant, which are really comfy and lightweight.
This color is incredible and the military style button detailing is so beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised it isn't super heavy either as these kinds of coats tend to be. This is an incredible piece.
THE BIAS-CUT STRAPPY TUNIC + SKIRT
This is actually 2 pieces and also comes in black. The skirt hits right at the waist and tank can also be tied on the side! Picked a couple shoe options to pair it with as well.
THE PAISLEY TIE-NECK DRESS
This dress was the first thing I tried on. I love the colors and the paisley. It is so comfortable and would be cute with a long light-colored coat along with either flats or a mid-heel.
Since the store was in the beginning stages of rolling out the pieces, this is a Petite size so I assume it lays a little bit longer. I could definitely see this dress worn in any season!
THE HIGH-WAISTED SKINNY CORDUROY PANT
Important: If you get these, make sure to go a size up!
I really liked the high-waist on these and boy do these accentuate your curves. For sure go a size up! Paired them with a plain white tee and would definitely wear this outfit with a cozy sneaker, such as the one chosen below.
THE RUFFLE-SLEEVE BOUCLE JACKET + SAILOR PANT
Even though this jacket isn't from the Olivia Palermo collection, I still wanted to share it because I thought it was SO CUTE!!! Paired it with the sailor buttoned navy pant and same navy shoe. You can really wear the jacket by itself or put a light top underneath - I'd probably pick a simple white tee. These ruffles are everything!!
